Finishing – to perfection

Fast jobs are not rushed: we match capacity between printing and binding. Five B1 folders, equipped with round pile feeders and presser stackers, operate on an identical shift pattern to the printing machines. This eliminates bottlenecks and contributes to our fast turnaround time.

Our three main finishing lines are all Muller Martini units:

Muller Martini Trendbinder line

Our first line is equipped with both burst/notch binding and PUR Twinflex 2000 binding for greater strength and lay-flat characteristics.

PUR Twinflex 2000 consists of two shots of PVA (primer and finisher) applied to the spine followed by PUR adhesive. The resulting chemical bond between the paper and adhesives provides very high page pull strengths together with excellent lay-flat properties.

The line consists of:

  • a 21 station gatherer with automatic signature recognition
  • a 20 clamp, 7,000 copies per hour binder
  • twin pressing stations connected to a Zenith three-knife trimmer and counter stacker and on-line shrinkwrapper

Muller Acoro A5 binder

  • a 12 station gatherer with automatic signature recognition
  • automatic make ready and 5000 copies per hour
  • a three-knife trimmer and counter stacker

Muller Martini Prima saddle stitching line

Our second line has:

  • a six station gatherer with automatic signature recognition
  • automatic make ready and 14,000 copies per hour
  • a three-knife trimmer and numbering unit
  • An on-line punch/ drilling station

We also have in-house wiro binding, drilling, forme cutting, shrink wrapping and hand finishing.
