CTP


Ashford Colour Press was one of the first companies to introduce a fully-integrated computer-to-plate (‘CTP’) system. CTP allows us to produce printing plates direct from computer generated digital files.

We can accept files via ISDN or any common storage device. By imposing and transferring files direct to plate, we can save you the time and expense of producing film. Digital planning ensures a high degree of accuracy and eliminates loss of quality.

We are constantly re-investing and upgrading this technology and have recently installed an APOGEE PDF system, which in combination with the Faruk postscript system, ensures an even smoother workflow through the repro department.

CTP production is currently 95% of our output. We operate three imaging engines on a multishift system, which gives us a great deal of flexibility in meeting our customers’ needs.

However, our hi-tech approach does not mean we have abandoned our traditional pre-press skills. In order to meet all our customers' needs, we still produce conventional plates from film when required.
